Isobars are atoms of different chemical elements that have the same mass number (i.e., the total number of protons and neutrons) but different atomic numbers.
- Example: Argon (40Ar) and Calcium (40Ca).
- Mass number (A): Total of protons + neutrons.
- Atomic number (Z): Number of protons only β it differs for each element.
